Core 8 Math (Period 6) Assignments

Happy Wednesday!!!

Congratulations you've almost made it to the end of the first quarter!!!

Today in class students took their Unit 1 Test, it is the first test of the Quarter, so it acts like a 1st Semester Midterm, it is a summative assessment over all things learned 1st Quarter!

KS Standards 8.NS.1, 8.NS.2, 8.EE.1, 8.EE.2, and 8.EE.3, we've covered, just in case you're wondering ;)

Students are doing a great job in class, most are doing their work, asking questions, and making corrections and adjustments as we go.

Next week we will be starting Module 3, Proportional Relationships!  This week, following the Test students will be asked to complete the Module 3 "Are you Ready" through the GoMath online resource, as well as start their Vocabulary: define all 10 terms and give an example for each, WB pg. 69.

Vocab will be due next week, 10/29/20.

Lesson 1.3 Ordering Real Numbers,

Notes and video are posted in Google Classroom!

Workbook pages. 24-26 # 1-21 and a HOT Question will be due on Monday.  The alternate assignment is the GoMath lesson 1.3 assigned through the Dashboard in GoMath resource through Classlink.

Here's this weeks WAG for Math 8.

 

Module 1 Lesson 1 Day 1.

Today we will discuss how to convert fractions to decimals, and decimals into fractions.  We will work on the Real Number chart, quiz will be next week.

 

Happy Friday!!!  I hope everyone had a fantastic week, I know that Mrs. Patrick and I have enjoyed being back in school and working with all of the students. 

Students have worked diligently this week, taking the STAR test for both ELA and Math.  I am hoping to share their results with them next week.

 

Assignment for Math Class: GoMath Online assignment Mod. 1 Real Numbers, "Are You Ready?".  Students answer 20 questions via the online text platform.  If they score less than 80% I would encourage them to go back and inspect the questions they got incorrect, and make corrections.  An equivalent assignment is available on Workbook page 4.

 

Also, there is a "First Week of School Reflection" Google Form assigned in Google Classroom, we would ask that students complete it prior to returning to school on Monday.
