Science 7 (Period 7) Assignments

Today we will working on Chapter 2, section 3 of the textbook titled "Discovering Cells". Students will read the section and then answer the questions based on the section in google classroom.

Students were to type definitions of 25 vocabulary terms from chapter 2 of the Life Science textbook. It is assigned for homework if not completed in class and is due on Thursday, March 12th.

Friday, February 28th - Students are to answer questions based on the reading of chapter 21, section 4. It is assigned for homework if not completed in class and will be due Monday, March 2nd.

Wednesday, February 26th - There is an assignment on google classroom titled "Lives of Stars" where students answered questions from chapter 21, section 3 of our textbook. It is assigned for homework if not completed in class and is due Thursday the 27th.

There is an assignment on google classroom titled Star Characteristics" that students worked on in class and was assigned for homework if not completed. It is due Friday the 21st.

Students were to complete the assignment "Telescopes" in class on google classroom. It is 15 questions from chapter 21, section 1 of the textbook. It is assigned for homework if not completed in class.

On Tuesday, January 21st, we launched our latest class project-the solar system. Students have been placed into groups and for the next few weeks will be working together in class constructing scale models of our solar system. With this being said, they may need certain items from home to use in order to assist them in completing their projects. Thank you in advance for all who are willing to assist their students in this endeavor so that they can present the best project possible! The completed projects are due on Thursday, February 6th and will be presented in class.

Using their journals or index cards, students will define vocabulary terms from chapter 20 of our textbook. There are 29 total to choose from, and a minimum of 20 is needed for full credit. These will be due on Tuesday, February 4th, and we will have a quiz on Wednesday, February 5th.

Students were to answer the following questions based on information learned in chapter 20, section 3 of our textbook. It was assigned for homework if not completed in class, and is due Monday, January 27th.

Students were asked to bring in a journal, notebook, folder, or index cards. We are starting a vocabulary assignment where they will write, define, and draw all of the vocabulary terms from our current chapter (19) to use as a "hands-on" study guide for our next test, which will be next Thursday, Jan. 16th.

Students were to complete the organizer based on information found in chapter 19, section 4 of the textbook (pages 680-683) in class. If not, it is assigned for homework and is due on Monday, January 13th.

Students are to answer the 5 questions from chapter 19, section 1 on page 665. It was assigned for homework if not completed in class and can be found in google classroom.

Students have been creating a vocabulary list from the terms in chapter 18 of our text for the last week. These 25 terms are due on Wednesday, the 11th, and we will have our chapter test covering these terms on December 12th.

Students completed the organizer "Climate regions" in class and it was assigned for homework if not completed. It is due Friday, December 6th.

December 4th - Students were to complete the attached organizer with the information on pages 614-621 of the textbook in class. It is assigned for homework if not completed in class and is due Thursday, December 5th.

Students need to complete the Chapter 17, section 2 assessment titled "Storms" on google classroom. It is assigned for homework if not completed in class and is due on Thursday, November 21st.

Students were to complete a compare and contrast activity in google classroom titled "Air Masses & Fronts" in class, based on the reading of chapter 17, section 1 (pages 578-585). It was assigned for homework if not completed in class and is due November 20th.

Here is a copy of today's student-led review for our test tomorrow covering chapter 16 of the earth science text. They all did an excellent job!

Students will complete the attached organizer answering questions about chapter 16, section 5 and turn in. It will be assigned for homework if not completed in class and is due Thursday, November 14th.

Students will complete the graphic organizer titled "Winds" about the reading of Chapter 16, section 3, pages 552-558. It is due on Wednesday, November 13th.

Students completed an activity in class where they converted temperatures from degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsius. It was assigned for homework if not completed, and it is due Thursday, November 7th .

Complete the organizer in Google classroom, showing how the sun's energy reaches the Earth's surface. It is assigned as homework and due on Wednesday, November 6th.

Students are to build a vocabulary list in Google Classroom using the key terms from chapter 13, section 4, and all of chapter 15 in the earth science textbook. We will have a quiz on the terms on Monday, November 4th.

Students answered questions pertaining to air and the atmosphere. The assignment is located in google classroom, and was assigned for homework if not completed in class. It is due Thursday, October 31st. 

Students completed a graphic organizer describing the causes and effects of currents. It is located in Google classroom and was assigned for homework if not completed in class.

We began a unit on volcanoes today, and students were assigned a project that will be a Google slide presentation detailing why humans have lived and farmed near volcanoes historically. The attached rubric details how I will grade the assignment. I will also provide a printed version for any student that requires one, and a copy is located on Google classroom. We will present our projects in class on October 22nd and 23rd. 

Use the graphic organizer located in Google classroom to answer the questions from the graphs on page 207 in the Earth Science textbook. It is for homework if not completed in class. Students may use pencil and paper if need be.

Use the graph located on page 289 of the textbook to answer the 5 questions on the Google doc located in Google classroom. If not finished in class, it was assigned for homework and due on Friday, October 4th.

Students were to answer 5 questions based on the Chart "Great Rivers" in class. The document can be found in Google Classroom and it was assigned for homework if not completed. It is due October 3rd. 

Students were to complete a fill-in-the-blank activity on google classroom covering section 1 of chapter 8 in the earth science textbook. It was assigned as homework if not completed in class. I will upload the chapter online and in google classroom as soon as I have it.

Students read chapter 15, section 2 as a class and should answer the 6 questions at the end of the section (1. a-c and 2. a-c). This was to be completed in class and was assigned as homework if not completed. 

Students will use the graphic organizer provided to them in Google classroom and complete an outline/summary of chapter 15, section 1 using complete sentences. 

Define 9 vocabulary (key terms) from page 14 of the textbook in your own words using a Google doc. Submit to Google Classroom when completed.
