Pet Peeve Poem - Using the handout from class, create a poem about a pet peeve.  Poems must be a minimum of 14 lines with a minimum of 5 similes (this is different from what is stated on the handout).  A hard copy of the poem is due at the beginning of class on Wednesday.

  • independent clause - a sentence

  • compound sentence - 2 independent clauses joined using either a conjunction or a semi-colon (;)
  • complex sentence - a sentence using both a subordinate and independent clause
  • compound-complex sentence - a sentence using 2 or more independent clauses and 1 or more subordinate clauses
