Structured Learning Classroom at Patton Junior High
Welcome to Patton Junior High, Parents and Teachers!
We've started our new experiences as Middle School Students at Patton. Everyone is adjusting quite well and loving their new adventures here! We are busy making new friends and getting re-acquainted with old friends from our other schools as well.
For my new to Ft. Leavenworth USD 207 students our curriculum is called Unique N2Y. This curriculum offers a full array of all core content areas: Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, Life Skills.
I am excited to report that this year we have a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, cupboards, sink, washing machine and dryer! Thus we will be busy learning to prepare simple snack foods and drinks, washing dishes, washing clothes, and learning basic life skills. We hope to have some fun fundraisers to support our field trips, especially our Christmas activity at the Commissary.
Speaking of Field Trips, we have 4 planned for this school year. We are going to Red Barn Farm in October, Commissary in December, Bowling in March, and opportunity to experience what can enhance their lives post high school (eg., perhaps rehabilitation or training center where they can learn work skills that they can take out into potential job opportunities in the community.)
