Mrs. Elder's Website

Welcome to Patton Junior High School!  I am super excited to be part of the Fort Leavenworth School District!  Even after 20+ years in education, I still find the start of school a thrilling time!   I started teaching in 1997 earning Kansas certification in both math grades 5-9 and science grades 5-12.  In addition, I hold certification in Project Lead the Way STEM courses and teach a variety of these engaging courses each year.

I come from a family of educators: my mom was a science teacher in the St. Joseph School District; my sister, Amy Foley, is a Highland Community College instructor; another sister, Teresa Juhl, currently works in the St. Joseph School District as an ESOL teacher; and my husband, Israel Elder, is a social studies teacher at Riverside School District.  I really do LOVE school and hope to transfer the "love of learning" along to my students. For the few hours a week when I'm not wrapped up in school-related work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading books, going to the library and traveling.  My husband and I have three children: Elizabeth, Anneliese and Elijah. Our oldest is grown and married; our second daughter is a student at Fort Hays State University and our youngest is a student at Leavenworth High School.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  I look forward to a fabulous year at Patton Junior High!
