Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone has had a great weekend!
Students are currently working on wrapping up Unit 6. Some students have finished and are working ahead in Module 14, which is the first Module of the 8th grade section!!! YAY!!!
We are hoping to have a class celebration this week once everyone has finished :)
The class is working in different sections in an attempt to differentiate instruction based on the needs of the students in the class. Small group lessons are being taught as students request and ask questions. Otherwise they are free to work ahead at their own pace. Once everyone has finished Unti 6 and 7 we will dive head first into all kinds of Geometry!!! (They need to understand how irrational numbers work before we can discuss exponents, roots, and volume :)
So please encourage students to keep working diligently to get their work turned in, and to ASK questions!!! I am still working on updating their grades, am hoping to have it all updated by the EOD Wednesday.
Thank you for your continued support, as always, email me if you have any questions or concerns,
Respectfully,
Mrs. Faught

All missing work is due by Thursday so I can get grades updated prior to seeing everyone Friday morning.
8th Graders received the quiz they took last week, graded with notes. We met in small groups today to work through some of the struggle spots, I'll attach a copy of the key so you know what I was looking for.
7th Graders, keep up the great work!
Thank you for your time,

Happy Snow Day!!!
I hope everyone is safe, warm, and having a great day!
The final will still take place on Tuesday so it can carry over into Wednesday if needed.
Students are encouraged to look over and redo the "Ready To Go On" assignments and Unit Study Guides in preparation for the Final tomorrow. As directed from the first weeks of school, students should have the completed Quizzes and Tests to review for their final, as a formal study guide has not been provided. IXL is again a great resource for practice questions, automatically graded with corrective actions recommended.
I will update grades as the week progresses, with Final grades posting Thursday afternoon.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please email me.
Respectfully,

Happy Tuesday!
Tomorrow is Module 6 Post Test Quiz Day!!!
I'm attaching an answer key to the Study Guide, students were to complete it in class today, and grade it before they left, but I have a feeling many didn't... so here it is.
Quiz is 22 Questions on paper, work required.
I've updated Skyward to reflect their current scores, so if you see missing assignments... it's really missing!
I hope you have a great Tuesday!

Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!
Students used today as a work day, completing their Module 5 Pretest, Module 5 Vocabulary, Module 5 "Are you Ready".
If students were not finished with their Module 4 Post Test Quiz, they were given time in class to complete that as well. If they finished but scored under 80% they were given the option to work on corrections today and ask questions.
If they didn't finish today in class, they will have to dedicate some time outside of class to get things caught up. This could be advisory or Academic Recovery, or I have tutoring until 4 Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, if they aren't able to complete it at home or have questions :)
Please congratulate your students for their hard work and diligence, and encourage them to trying.
I look forward to seeing you at Parent Teacher Conferences this Thursday and Friday.
We do conferences buffet style :) . All of the teachers will be positioned around the perimeter of the cafeteria with tables and chairs, and you'll have the opportunity to talk to the teachers you choose too!
I will be passing out their STAR and Interim State Assessment data at this time as well.
Thank you for your continued support,
Respectfully,
Betina Faught

Greetings,
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
I am sharing the Week At a Glance and some information for this week.
7th and 8th grade classes will be taking a Module Quiz this week, with 7th grade taking a Unit test as well. I am working on updating Skyward, and anticipate having it updated midweek (materials turned in by 9-21-19, I won't have access to anything they turn in this week until I return). I ask for your patience as I will be driving to the VA in Aurora CO Sunday to help my father.
I will be out of the building 9-23 through 9-27-2019, students will have a substitute for the week. Please encourage them to be respectful to the sub, and to complete their study guides and reviews. If students fret over the Quiz/Test I recommend they visit Tutoring with Mrs. Anderson after school in room 201, 3-3:30.
She is a certified math teacher and would love to help them.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
