Welcome to Patton Junior High School! I am super excited to be part of the Fort Leavenworth School District! This is my 22nd year as an educator and I still find the start of school a thrilling time! Normally, I teach 9th grade biology. However, this year we are rearranging to try to keep the students in stable groups and minimize COVID-19 exposure. This year I will teach 7th grade math and science as well as 9th grade PLTW classes.
I come from a family of educators: my mom was a science teacher in the St. Joseph School District; my sister, Amy Foley, is a Highland Community College instructor; another sister, Teresa Juhl, currently works in the St. Joseph School District as an ESOL teacher; and my husband, Israel Elder, is a social studies teacher at Riverside School District. I LOVE school and hope to transfer the "love of learning" along to my students. For the few hours a week when I'm not wrapped up in school-related work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading books, going to the library and traveling. My husband and I have three children: Elizabeth, Anneliese and Elijah. Our oldest is grown and married, our middle child is in high school and the youngest is in 8th grade this year.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to a fabulous year at Patton Junior High!
