Welcome to 9th grade biology! I am super excited to be part of the Fort Leavenworth School District! Though I am approaching 20 years as an educator, I still find the start of school a thrilling time and hope you do, too!
I come from a family of educators: my mom was a science teacher in the St. Joseph District; my sister, Amy Foley, is a MWSU instructor/fitness coordinator; another sister, Teresa Juhl, currently works in the St. Joseph District as an ESOL teacher; and my husband, Israel Elder, is a junior high social studies teacher at Riverside School District. I LOVE school and hope to transfer the "love of learning" along to my students. For the few hours a week when I'm not wrapped up in school-related work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading books, going to the library and traveling. While our oldest is grown and married, we have two remaining children in the house who are currently USD #207 students.
The first days of school have been fantastic! All students have received a syllabus, parent letter and classroom rules. Students should have asked for a signature from parents verifying they have viewed the documents. Links to the documents are on the right side of this webpage in case you missed them.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to a fabulous year at Patton Junior High!
